Maintain and improve the health of your brain

If you are worried about your memory Rockdale City Council is hosting a free public forum, Better Brain, Better Life, for the senior community as part of its Seniors Month program.

Rockdale City Council is partnering with The Centre for Healthy Brain Ageing to present a free forum Better Brain, Better Life at the Rockdale Town Hall on Tuesday 4 March from 10am –1pm.

The forum will cover a range of strategies for reducing the risk associated with memory loss and dementia.

The program will include educational presentations by:

  • Professor Brodaty, Co-Director of the Centre for Healthy Brain Ageing, will speak on Prevention, Treatment and Medication
  • Dr Nicky Kochan on Memory
  • Dr Nicola Gates on the importance of Exercise for Brain Health
  • Paula Goodyer, Walkley-award winner and SMH columnist, about the benefits of a Mediterranean diet.
“Living to 100 or more may be possible, but what we need to ensure is that we are adding life to our years not years to our life,” Professor Brodaty said.
“Part of our goal with these public forums is to increase understanding amongst seniors that it is never too early or too late to commence preventative strategies to reduce one’s risk of cognitive decline. We are thrilled that Rockdale City Council is generously hosting this forum in their Town Hall.”

This is a free event but bookings are essential.
